Welcome to Karma

A Sample Hat

Karma is a small U.K business that use Fair Trade standards. We have been trading at Music Festivals and Outdoor events around the U.K. since 1989 (see festival dates.)

We import crafts, clothing and musical instruments from the Far East. The relatively small amount of trade Karma has with the developing world will not end global inequalities or poverty, but we do pay the prices asked for by our producers, provided that they are produced under fair and decent conditions. (see more about our fair trade criteria.)

Karma's Fair Trade Policy

Our principle is 'Do The Right Thing- Support Fair Trade.'

Fair trade ensures that smaller producers in developing countries get a decent price for goods produced.

We are very flexible with our smaller producers, often paying them months in advance before we receive the goods, but they must also meet our fair trade criteria.

Fair Trade Criteria

  • All employees must receive basic wages that are in line with similar occupations locally.
  • Women and men receive equal pay for equal work.
  • Working hours should reasonable to allow for family time.
  • We never use producers who employ children.
  • We encourage our producers to employ a health and safety policy, and their employees should have protected conditions of employment.
  • Clean drinking water and toilets must also be available.

Whilst our efforts are small we hope that the more we trade, the more we aid the local communities, thus enriching their quality of life.
